Mission Map Guide: Cookie Factory

Cookies, Candies, and Clues

Port of the Winds has taken on a rather scrumptious scent, but don't be deceived! There is something sinister behind the smell of cookies and candy permeating the air. Detective Gordon has been investigating the case of the cursed candy since the Nights of Fright Festival and now suspects that the children slowly disappearing might be linked. Now it's up to you to enter the Cookie Factory and discover what, or who, is behind the missing children.

The Path to the Cookie Factory

Talking to Innkeeper Emmy in Port of the Winds will reveal that her son, Chuck, disappeared recently. After reporting her missing son to Guard Walter, Emmy tells you that she heard of a Detective named Gordon who is still investigating the Nights of Fright Festival incident. The two cases may be linked, and if you agree to help Detective Gordon investigate, he'll lead you to Sneak Thief Jules to pry some information from him. Jules never gives information for free, but if you do a favor for him, you may learn a clue about Chuck's disappearance. After delivering this information to Gordon, you will be given the task of collecting old cookie bags in Pincers Coast in hopes of finding an old tour map of the factory. The Cookie Factory's manager, Yumaki, will then be more than pleased to allow you to tour the factory if you have a map. Gordon will happily reward you for bringing the perpetrator his just desserts. However, if you're not interested in helping Emmy and Gordon investigate the missing persons case, you're welcome to simply talk to Yumaki, in Port of the Winds, to enter the Cookie Factory.

A Sugary Sweet Nightmare

As the smell of sugar and chocolate lures you in, you will be stuck in a sugary sweet nightmare. Gingerbread Men and spinning Crunchy Cocoas emerge from the candy-coated walls. Sugar Knights made of doughnuts and candy rush forward to block you from advancing. Watch your head as Toasted Sandis swoop down from above to bombard you with cheese chunks. As if your senses haven't been overloaded enough, you'll also be challenged with floating cookies that you'll need to jump across while avoiding being squished by giant lollipops.

Marshmalicious

If you manage to battle your way through the numerous candied monsters, you will come face to face with a giant, android marshmallow called "Marshmalicious." This well-armed confection will blast you with gooey marshmallow cream from a large canister on its back, extend its arm from halfway across the chamber to knock some sense out of you and perform a vicious spinning attack. Eyes in the back of your head would come in handy as Marshmalicious will also bring down heat-seeking chocolate drops on your head that will turn you into one of them as well as summon Sugar Knights!

Maximus Roboticus

Should you succeed in defeating the forces of the Marshmilitia and gain access to the Cookie Factory's Hidden Chamber, you will confront Maximus Roboticus, a cookie robot with a deadly sugar high. Don't underestimate the fight with this mechanical nightmare. You will be jumping from platform to platform, dodging the chocolatizer drops and shortbread cookies launched from its metal belly. Whether alone or in a party, no one will be safe when Maximus Roboticus uses his mixer arms to create giant whirlwinds that blast across the chamber. Defeat this dentist's worst nightmare to discover the mastermind behind the animated candy monsters and the missing children!

Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice

Battling against these sugary monsters will give you a chance of finding a candy recipe, while defeating Marshmalicious has an even higher chance of earning you a recipe. These special recipes will produce consumable items that give a 30-minute EXP boost. Take note, once cooked, the food item will spoil after one day if not consumed. EXP Potions will be rewarded for achieving the ranks of D - SSS in the Cookie Factory, as well as a Love Balloon Gotcha! Capsule every time you earn a SSS rank. Congratulations are in order if you defeat Marshmalicious and Maximus Roboticus in the event mode and bring them to justice. As a reward, Detective Gordon will give you a Love Balloon Gotcha! Capsule. These capsules have a chance of giving one of four balloons - "L" Balloon, "O" Balloon, "V" Balloon or "E" Balloon. If you manage to collect one of each of these balloons, you can turn a set of them in to Yumaki once a day to receive a Love Gift Box Gotcha! Capsule. This Daily Quest will become unlocked only once the Cookie Factory quest chain has been completed. The capsule has a chance of giving a special Cookie Factory themed pet, "Ginger" a walking Gingerbread cookie or "Yumster" a Candy Woodster. If you and three of your buddies are in a party and each of you happen to have a different LOVE Balloon equipped to spell the word "LOVE", a +10% EXP boost will be given to everyone in the party while fighting in a Field Map. Don't let your sweet tooth get the best of you or Maximus Roboticus may just lure you into becoming part of his chocolate army.
